Profile:

Mgr. Lenka Žitňanská graduated in the study programme English Language and Culture and German Language and Culture (aimed at preparing Translators and Interpreters) at the Department of Translation Studies, Faculty of Arts, CPU in Nitra. In her research she deals with legal translation and terminology and in her dissertation thesis she examines the competence profile of legal translators in the context of practice and higher education in Slovakia. During her Master’s studies she defended her master thesis Notarielles Testament im Kontext der Translation (Deutsch – Slowakisch) and won the Student Scientific, Professional and Artistic Activity with her research Textsorten des Erbrechts im Kontext der Übersetzung (Deutsch – Slowakisch) in 2023. In the field of audiovisual translation, she collaborates on creating translation subtitles for the film festival One World. In addition to academic activities, she teaches language courses for adults and corporations, as well as provides commercial translation.
