Profile:

Mgr. Kristína Sadloňová graduated at the Department of Translation Studies, Faculty of Arts, CPU in Nitra in the study programme English Language and Culture and Spanish Language and Culture (aimed at preparing translators and interpreters) by defending her Master’s thesis titled Translation Specifics of Swear Words in the Selected Audiovisual Work from Hispanic Environment. Her dissertation thesis focuses on the translation of dubbing and adaptation of songs in audiovisual works for a child viewer, and the interpretive, transfer and reception specificities. Apart from her academic activities, she works as a translation quality assurance specialist for a translation agency, she is a dubbing and subtitle translator and she also contributes to the creation of both translated and inclusive subtitles for the One World Festival. In 2024, she interpreted at the international scientific conference Political Sciences in the Modern World. She is a member of the student civic association Sa zobuď! (Wake Up!) and the civic association DoSlov. In her free time, she enjoys diving into a good book.
