Profile:

Mgr. Romana Chantal Čuláková graduated in English Language and Culture and Spanish Language and Culture at the Department of Translatology at the Faculty of Arts, CPU Nitra. Her dissertation thesis focuses on the design and implementation of audio description for blind and partially sighted audiences in a theatre, transfer practices and strategies in inclusive theatrical performances. She graduated with Master’s degree with a successful defence of her thesis Comparative Analysis of Unamuno Translations and in 2023 she took third place with her thesis at the Student Scientific, Professional and Artistic Activity. She volunteered as an interpreter at the discussion Audiovision without Barriers III: Blind and Deaf in Cinema – Are We Progressing (?) at the One World Festival, as well as an interpreter for Spanish students from the Erasmus programme at the University of the Third Age at UMB. She also participated in interpreting the PhD conference Tradition and Innovation in Translation Research XII, organised by our Department. In her free time she enjoys reading classical literature.
