Profile:

Mgr. Andrej Birčák graduated from the Department of Translation Studies at the Faculty of Arts, University of Constantine the Philosopher, where he studied translation and interpreting with language combination English – Slovak. His doctoral research deals with hybridity in interpreting and its aspects in Slovakia. During his Master’s studies he focused on machine translation from English into Slovak and participated in a project to create an objective evaluation system for machine translation. In the field of audiovisual translation, he created subtitles and subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing for the One World Film Festival. In his spare time, he writes short stories and novels.
