Profile:

Emília Perez is Associate Professor at the Department of Translation Studies, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. Since 2019, she has been a member of the Executive Board of the European Master’s in Translation network (EMT). In 2020 she set up the EMT working group on audiovisual translation and media accessibility training in Europe which she leads to the present day. Since 2021 she is the member of the European Association for Studies in Screen Translation Executive Board. She is a co-founding member and current editor-in-chief of the journal Bridge: Trends and Traditions in Translation and Interpreting Studies and member of the scientific board of the Journal of Audiovisual Translation. As a trainer, access coordinator and invited expert she has been cooperating with several international projects, events and initiatives, e.g. with One World Film Festival 2020-2024; the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Parliament, Luxembourg (2020-2024); AMAC – MA in Accessibility to Media, Arts and Culture, Macerata (2023). As a supervisor and subtitler she cooperates with several domestic and international dubbing studios, localisation companies and cultural institutions, currently specialising mainly at accessibility of content to audiences with specific needs.
