TransATLAS-SK: Mapping Slovak Translation Culture (1945–2025)

How can literary and cultural periodicals help us investigate the history of translation in Slovakia? The TransATLAS-SK project maps translation culture between 1945 and 2025, examining the role of periodicals, translators, and other actors in mediating foreign literature.

The event will introduce the project’s objectives, methodological framework, and planned outputs to the academic community at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. The programme will include a roundtable bringing together the research team and representatives of four academic institutions to discuss interdisciplinary collaboration, research coordination, and the next stages of the project.

Date and time: Friday, 6 November 2026, 13:00–16:00
Venue: Room 325, Štefánikova trieda 67, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra

The event is organised by the Department of Translation Studies, Faculty of Arts, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, as part of the TransATLAS-SK research project, supported by the Slovak Research and Development Agency under Contract No. APVV-25-0079.
