Profile:

Mária Koscelníková studied Translation Studies (English Language and Culture and Spanish Language and Culture) at the Department of English and American Studies, Faculty of Arts, Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica. She later graduated at the Department of Translation Studies of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra and obtained academic title PhD. She defended dissertation focused at Translation Specifics of Video Game Localisation. She mostly researches theory of video game localisation, general and Slovak, video game criticism of Slovak localisations of video games. She teaches theoretical and practical disciplines. She is a member of organisation ESIST, civic association Doslov, she is a deputy editor of L10N journal and she is also a practicing translator. She translated many books, dialogue letters, subtitles or video games.
