Internship goals<\/span><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"firstItem\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Giving future translators and interpreters a chance to test their skills in a practical context based on the theoretical findings from their studies<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Providing translation and interpreting students with vocational training in a professional setting<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Allowing students to test their practical foreign language skills in real-life translation and interpreting situations<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Gaining technical skills through the use of technological tools (CAT tools, glossaries\u2026)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Being aware of the specific challenges in translating various types of texts<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Gaining practical skills in client interaction and in agreeing on work conditions<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Increasing career prospects in the future job market<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"lastItem\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Creating valuable contacts for future employment<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">2. Definition of the role of the receiving institution<\/span><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"firstItem\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">An introduction to the organisation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">A briefing on the content of the future employment as well as an overview of the work conditions at the organisation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">An overview of the translation software used in the organisation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Familiarisation with the type of texts that will be translated<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"lastItem\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Preparing an Internship Certificate, which includes a verbal evaluation of the intern as well as the type and extent of the translation\/interpreting work that was completed<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">3. Definition of the role of the intern<\/span><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"firstItem\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">An active participation in the full length of the internship\u2019s duration in the chosen receiving organisation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Following the Code of conduct at the receiving organisation, including working time and any applicable directives or legal provisions relating to data confidentiality<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Preparing an Internship Evaluation (includes the name and address of the organisation, types of texts, technical equipment etc.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"lastItem\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Keeping the records of the translated texts in both source and target languages<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">4. Internship dates<\/span><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"firstItem\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Internships usually take place outside of teaching hours, usually in the summer semester for 2<sup>nd<\/sup> year MA students<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"lastItem\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Students who would like to take part in an internship during teaching time have to inform the Head of the Department and request an exemption for the missed classes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>The required minimum duration of an internship is 10 work days. <span class=\"--l --r sentence_highlight\">Internship Statements and Internship Site Evaluations, along with records of activities performed, are to be submitted in one packet, in print, signed, in the last week of the lecture period of the summer semester of the last year your studies (14 April \u2013 15 April 2026 at 8.00 \u2013 9.15; 10.45 \u2013 11.00) to the office of Doc.
